Useful technology, or rather literally life-saving. 80% of motorcycle accidents are linked to some form of distraction in the 3 seconds before the crash. And a two-wheel accident is 29 times more likely to be fatal than a car accident. Viber Alert is an idea that Vincenzo Maresca had after seriously hurting himself by losing sight of the road for a second while checking if he had put his turn signal on. So here is the solution: 4 powerful vibration motors inserted under the motorcycle seat that are activated to signal an event. An turn signal on, but also a turn to take with GPS navigation active, the presence of a speed camera or a vehicle approaching from behind without slowing down. The inputs arrive through the control unit, connected via Can Bus or Bluetooth, the motors are vigorous enough to be very clear in their signals. At that point the distractions, and consequently the risks, are drastically reduced. Furthermore, it is possible, through the solution’s software, to collect vehicle data, allowing in the future to do something similar to the black boxes of insurance companies.
